Heads up

Howdy, folks. I would like to apologize to all of you for the recent lack of posts, as well as give you a heads up for what's coming next and a few changes that will be made going forward. Firstly, i am extremely sorry for the lack of posts as of recently, i've been getting really caught up with personal problems alongside my struggles with mental health, and i found myself feeling the need to take a break from drawing in the time being. I'm starting to feel slightly better, so i hope to be back with something you all could enjoy. On that note, i would like to say that all Cartoon Fun posts will no longer be just about drawings of cartoon characters, and going forward the title will be used for all my art i decide to post on this blog. Thank you all for taking the time to read through this, and i once again apologize for the lack of activity. Best regards. Cass.

Howdy, folks! I'm back once again for today with a doodle that definitely took more time than the rest to get done, and i'm extremely proud of the final result. I couldn't wait to get it finished to show you all. Here is a drawing of Yumi Yoshimura from Hi Hi Puffy AmiYumi! It's a show that has been one of my top favorites for years now. Well, here is the drawing! Yumi is one of my favorite fictional characters ever (among many others) simply because of how cute, hot-headed yet kind-hearted she can be. In a lot of the episodes i saw back when i had easy access to this show, my impression of her was that she was sort of a loudmouth with an attitude, but she very obviously had a kind and well-meaning soul, especially when she was around her friend and band mate Ami. Their dynamic is downright adorable, and i absolutely loved the way both of them typically worked together to solve whatever it was they got themselves in. The music in this show is glorious, all b...

Howdy, folks! Here i am today with a digitalized version of a doodle i actually happened to make on a cel about a year ago. It's been one of the drawings i'm most proud of ever since, and i decided it would be good to finally get around to digitalizing it and posting it here for all of you to enjoy. This is Ren Höek, once again, one of my all-time favorite characters. This time, i tried for something different when it came to the expression and pose, not just a basic doodle of his head. I should've probably redrawn his left arm, given that it's too thick, but whatever. I'm proud of it as is.

Howdy, folks. Once again, i'm back for today with a relatively simple doodle. Took no more than 10 minutes for me to make. Here's Ren Höek from The Ren and Stimpy Show! Background painting is a generic slip i made a while ago. Ren has to be my favorite fictional character of all time, mainly in the way of how real his emotions feel in every single episode. The attitude he was given and the way his voice (from season 1 to season 2) bends to that makes him an extremely endearing character, its genius performance. Though, it's hard to like him when he tends to be an asshole to Stimpy, who's always looking out him. Looking past that, i like to think he has a good heart but always caves into his emotions due to pressure. My example for this is Stimpy's Fanclub of all episodes, especially the ending. I always loved how he was so blinded by the excitement of finally receiving a letter dedicated to him (after spending the whole episode thinking people hate him) ...

Howdy, folks. I'm back once again, and now i wanted to share this really cool drawing of Pepper Ann! I'm super happy with how this turned out, and i especially like her as a character in general. Here's the drawing:  This came as a request from a looong long time ago. A friend of mine is a huge fan of this show, and i had gotten really into it thanks to him. While i had never made a huge fuzz about it, i wound up having a soft spot for it. At first, the sense of humor it handled and the topics it touched didn't really sit well with me. They came off as the cliche problems a middle schooler on a sitcom would have, but the more episodes i watched, the more i started to grow fond of them. I especially liked one where Pepper Ann harshly criticizes a film for the school newspaper, and the director himself (somehow) flies out to where she lives and challenges her to take it upon herself to make her own film, so as she could experience the struggle that comes with ...

Drawing Theory

Howdy, once again. I wanted to make this post right after making the last, given how this whole ordeal happened whilst drawing that. So, what happened? It's not that big a deal, mainly just some stuff that came over my head while i was drawing. It's all in regard to the process i have, and it escalated from there. For starters, i don't think it's a secret to those who know me personally that a majority of my drawings typically start out as simple doodles i made on my notebook whilst at school or in my bedroom with nothing else better to do. If a drawing is good enough on my end, i digitalize it and give it some extra flare before posting it on social media. What's the problem with that? Well, it's difficult to explain... You see, drawing physically is a completely different beast than drawing digitally. I made a write-up way back in January to explain this phenomenon to some friends of mine, which i will be quoting here: "Physical is better because you get ...

Howdy, Folks. I'm back now with a digitalized version of a doodle i made a few months back. This character is Luna Loud, from The Loud House. It's a show that i'm not necessarily a fan of, but i was so enthralled by this character's design that i just HAD to draw it. I got too lazy to paint a proper background or give her legs if it isn't already noticeable. While i'm not exactly super proud of how it turned out, i thought it was worth posting to keep this blog alive. As for the cartoon itself? It's decent. I had watched it way back when it premiered, and it didn't necessarily captivate me. It had some funny moments, and it was very esthetically pleasing for sure, but i guess i was just more interested in what i was already watching at that time. A few weeks back, i tried to rewatch it, though. Unfortunately, i just had to put it down. I wasn't too big into the sense of humor it handled. It felt oddly repetitive to me. That's not to s...
